it is ready today, the ET-part of Splatterladder moves on a new root server in the daytime. If this is completed request times and lags should be a thing of the past, thanks to the new HTML-Engine. Therefore the SL will be down for a couple of hours today. We apologize for this spontaneous action but we are looking for a suitable time already since 14 days. During Farcry and the forum nothing will change.
We keep you informed...
Updates: - 1:13pm MET: We have started with the DNS-updates. - 2:30pm MET: The ET page is switched off, we start with the transfer of the web page now. This can last for a couple of little whiles. - 5:40pm MET: The data have been integrated into the new Splatterladder firmware. On the other hand, if the integrity test is successful nothing speaks to open the system for you again. - 6:15pm MET: The farcry.splatterladder.com wasn't unintentional reachable by a error in DNS. We have this fixed. - 11:09pm MET: The whole Splatterladder is online now!
In other bot related news a community member who goes by Yuraj has graciously fixed some bugs in Foxbot and released an update for it, which fixes some long standing bugs with Foxbot such as the teleporter crash and several other issues. The updated version as well as an updates source code snapshot is available in the downloads.
Sniper Ruines offers some nice bombed ruines and takes place under cover of dusk. Sniper fans will have a lot of fun, because there are many hiding-places to discover. You can hide very good, what makes it hard for your enemy, to win the fight.
The Allies must destroy the Axis Anti-Aircraft gun located at the north end of the depot before Axis troops destroy the Allied Field HQ in the south.
Some players found v1.0.1 too dark. Version 1.0.2 has had the ambient light increased.
RtCW Depot was one of my favourite RtCW maps which I always hoped would turn up on ET. It never did, so I have done a conversion to get this classic played again.
Based on the revised Depot 2, it has a few changes from the RtCW version but remains essentially the same.
The enemy forces confront each other in a rail depot. The Allies must destroy the Axis Anti-Aircraft gun at the north end of the depot before the Axis destroy the Allied Field HQ in the south.
Best played with larger team sizes of say at least 8 per team, to allow some players to attack the enemy objective while some defend their own.
Football Match: Each team need to score at least 10 goals to win the match or the highter scoring points will win the match if the time is up. You need to steel the Enemy NFL-Ball and score between FieldGoal.
Allies and Axis battle to control the roof of a tower. Why? Who knows?!
Scoring is as follows: The team scores one point per second for each player on the roof. Scoring is doubled at the tip of the antenna. An annunciator sounds every 10 points, and each team has a unique sound.
The current score for each team is displayed at two corners of the map - firstteam to 500 points wins... this can happen faster than you think!
A prototype code machine - the Scherbius device - has been developed by the Axis which would render Allied codebreaking efforts useless. The Allies must secure the prototype.
Allied Intelligence have discovered a weapon research bunker outside of the town of Braundorf. It is the Allies mission to blow up the gas and electricity control systems, causing overloads which will destroy the facility.
If anyone wants to give it a try, I've uploaded the config files I made for making Valley a dark, night time map. WARNING: Lots of lights will be spawned with lights1.cfg, may effect performance, especially inside large buildings near Main Outpost.
Unzip, and put the config files in your C:\Documents and Settings\MyComputer\My Documents\id Software\Enemy Territory - QUAKE Wars Demo\base folder
Has to be done on a local computer, can't get it to work on a server. Just select "Play Computer", start the game, open the console, and type "exec lights1.cfg"
NOTE: It will also spawn 3 extra base defense guns, a radar inside the building behind the Titan at the first GDF spawnpoint, and a psi radar above the tunnel entrance, just for giggles. That's because it real hard to see the Tormentor when it comes in on a dark map.
I've also included the files to light the separate areas of the maps, if the lights1.cfg is too intense for your computer to handle.
A readme is enclosed explaining which cfg lights which area. You exec them the same way as described above, but substitute the individual area cfg filenames (lightsa.cfg, lightsb.cfg, etc). You can light up the map one area at a time this way. Lightsa.cfg has the extra defense guns and radar spawns in it.
Enjoy. Not responsible if you get lost in the dark, though!
So now it's about time for a serious snipermap. After all those funmaps it had to come to this. 2 Bunkers this time surrounded by a fence so it looks like a prison. The way to cross is there there is a nice looking terrain in the middle for nice crossing. A little river is made for a bit cover. Sometimes crossing is fun but it must go on a hard way. Lots of clip adjustments were made so you can only get in the bunker through the gates, and it will trigger an alarm as usual. The map is a bit of an conversion of RtCW UFO map. I hope the maker of that map don't mind that I took some parts of the building he made. Lot's of brushes adjustments I had to make to make this map run under a good fps. I think the map looks really cool with the rain in it. I also spend much time on lightning but now im really satisfied about that , The yellow light's I putted in give the map really good feeling. As usual the are a lot of sounds in the map someone specifictly asked for the owl sound so it's in between the trees. The thunder give the map realism. Well as usual I hope everyone likes the map, have fun with it, then my time is well spend.
Game Oracle is an extensible host application designed for PC gamers. It provides an environment for custom extensions that give gamers the features they need and want. Out of the box, Game Oracle provides a Server Browser extension that allows gamers to browse and manage their games and servers. The powerful and customizable View system provides an easy way to see and filter your servers. Because Game Oracle is an open-source project, I hope that it will find other developers that will help it mature into a solid application with the latest features that gamers look for.
This is alpha release contains the Server Browser extension only. The Server Browser extension is near feature complete. Most of, if not all, of the icons on this release are not final. The toolbar items, and order are also not final.
This version is a working version, and currently supports two games: Battlefield 2 (BF2) and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (ETQW). You should be able to add/remove servers and get server lists for ET:QW. You should also be able to set account names and server passwords and join servers.
I founded this site a couple of years ago with some friends with the same burning desire for RTCW. At this time I had no idea of what this was going to become. I started to learn PHP and soon we had a working news page with comments, a poll and some other sections. We got a pretty cool design by Hipshot, which later was reworked to what it is today. The site developed and grew more and more. After some server craches and lots of lost data we got the site up in a real serverhall.
At some point I met celtiC who started to write news. Back then, I had no idea of what great and devoted person he was. Today, the whole scene got him to thank what this site has become.
Sadly, I lost the interest for the game about a year from the release, but I kept the site running since it became so much more than I ever could have imagined. I also had a great interest in programming which kept me going.
All great moments has an end. Now it's time for sweRTCW. I barely got any time left to work on this site. It also takes alot of administration since I'm running the server at home. celtiC has already given his statement as you all know. I find this is the time to close the doors here. I would like to thank everyone who have helped sweRTCW in anyway.
I will keep the site running a while until i figure out what to do with all movies.
